Thanks for checking out my blog! I’m so excited that you’re here!
I ran across this quote by Richard G. Scott the other day and I felt like it perfectly explains why I wanted to start this blog.
“You will find that efforts to share knowledge are often rewarded with more understanding as additional light flows into your mind and heart.”
(For the full talk “Acquiring Spiritual Knowledge”, go here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNSePet2Fhk.)
I’ve always loved to share. You could say I’m an oversharer. (My computer is telling me that’s not even a real word, but I’ve heard it used often, so, it is! Ha!) Whenever I learn something new, gain a new insight, listen to an awesome podcast episode or read a really great book I want to go tell everyone that I know ALL about it. My poor husband is such a patient listener but he can only handle so much after a long day at the office before he gets that look on his face that tells me I’d better stop because his brain is about to explode. I feel like I’ve found something wonderful that blesses my life and who wouldn’t want it to bless their life as well! I also believe that knowledge shared becomes knowledge remembered. And that’s huge because for the last 11 years (since I got pregnant with my oldest) I’ve have had a serious case of “Mommy Brain” and my memory falls pretty short of awesome. But I worry, if I share too much, too often with my friends or family or post too often and too long of posts on facebook that I’ll annoy people, or worse, come across as preachy. I definitely don’t want that! I never want to sound like someone who thinks they know everything or thinks they’re better than anyone else. I just LOVE to learn and I LOVE to share what I’m learning. (And unschooling is all about loving learning) Hence, the birth of this blog. And I hope and pray that sharing on this blog will bring me the rewards mentioned in the quote above.
